Behind the Scenes

a note from the author

Written as allegory, the Molly Greenwood Adventures series paints a beautiful picture of what life is like in relationship with God. I’ve written this series for two reasons:

  1. Children need to hear that they are unconditionally loved and accepted just as they are, warts and all. Molly’s story demonstrates this love. (By the way, I’m not saying children have warts!)

  2. So many adults (myself included), need to be reminded that their identity and worth is only found in relationship with God - as one of his children.

Whilst the reading level for the series is 7-10, the content is appropriate for a 5-6 year old. So if you’re the lucky one who gets to read bedtime stories, you’ll also be the lucky one to hear God’s message for you along the way.

While each story stands by itself with no mention of God, as an allegory it may be used as a tool for Christian outreach and discipleship. If you’d like to explore this further, please find a comprehensive list of the ‘hidden messages’ available for download below.

what parents are saying

Hi Carmen,

My wife and I recently brought my daughter Faith a kindle for her 10th birthday, and began the search for some wholesome kids books. Amongst the books we added one of your Molly books. She enjoyed it so much that she would read it every night before she went to sleep. We bought her 2 more which she also regularly reads and enjoys. She is a sensitive kid, and sometimes finds it a challenge to find a book which she can fully delve into.

Thank you for writing books which we can confidently give to our daughter knowing that it is filled with good clean fun and adventure.

All the best with the future, and she looks forward to Molly's future endeavours

God bless.

mission, motivation and meaning

YOU MAY BE ASKING ME …

What is your mission when you write, Carmen?
I want children to know that they matter to God.

What is your motivation/angle that makes you unique?
My books are allegorical. The story has a depth of meaning beyond the words on the page. It’s waiting to be discovered by the reader, almost like a puzzle to be solved.

What is your passion and purpose in writing this style?
My passion is to provide an avenue for children to come to a deeper knowledge of God and his incredible love toward them. As they grow in their understanding of his love we will witness growth in their character as well. Children need to know that their life finds its true purpose and meaning when they relate to God as one of his children and serve others for his glory.
