Be the Hero of Your Own Story

What’s your character arc?

It’s the characters in a story that bring it to life. In every good story, we witness character growth, both in our heroes and villains. This kind of change is called a “Character arc”. Wikipedia defines character arc as this:

A character arc is the transformation or inner journey of a character over the course of a story. If a story has a character arc, the character begins as one sort of person and gradually transforms into a different sort of person in response to changing developments in the story.

As readers, we love seeing people change for the better.

But what about our story—the life we’re living?

You and I get to be the hero in our own story. Are we changing for the better? Are we seeking ways to grow in character or do we let life toss us one way, then the other?

I created these character sheets to help you and your children grow in character. They’re discussion starters. Whether you agree with their content is up to you. Simply click on an image below to download a pdf.

Remember: character is caught more often than taught.
