what parents are saying
“Molly’s Sudden Problem tells the story of five-year-old Molly Greenwood prior to her arrival at the orphanage where Book 1 of the Molly Greenwood series is set.
A well written tale, it masterfully builds a sense of impending drama, and then shares the tragic events that led to Molly's move to the children's home.
In recent years my family has journeyed through significant hardship, and many of the same emotions were evoked in reading of Molly's troubles. I was able to talk with my daughter before she read the story, to let her know that there would be some sad themes, and that she could talk with me if she needed to.
Interestingly, she was fine. I was the one who was a mess!
As a mama, I think it is so helpful to have a safe context, such as this series, and the prequel in particular, to talk about difficult, deep topics including suffering and death. I value my children being able to read about others like them, who have gone through really hard things at a young age, and who trust that they are still loved and that their future is one of hope.
I'm very grateful that my daughter has fallen in love with the Molly Greenwood series, and that it keeps pointing her back to our good God, his gracious, compassionate love, and the hope He holds out to us from now into eternity.”

“I wrote this prequel for young readers who’ve met Molly — and wondered what made her brave. It’s a story about loss, yes, but more than that, it’s a story about light, friendship, and finding home again.”
